Fine Art Printing

Your images will be printed on fine-art paper with archival inks and allows our team to professionally prepare your files for final print. This service also includes a complimentary proof to ensure your satisfaction.

Note: If you are an advanced user and proficient in file prep, you can send it straight to our printers. This will bypass the setup process and included proof, which in turn reduces cost. For more info, go to our Print-Ready page.
What is included?

Archival Pigment Print
Giclée and pigment prints are both interchangeable terms defining they use archival (long lasting and fade resistant) fine-art paper and inks. This style of printing has become industry standard in museums and galleries. More info on Printlab’s printer, inks and paper.

Professional File Preparation
Preparing files for viewing on a screen is inherently different than preparing a file for print. This is further complicated by variables such as personal editing style, destined display environment, and screen brightness and calibration. This service is what separates us from the rest, handling these nuances to deliver you with a quality final print.

Complimentary Proof
We all have different tastes, so we highly recommend checking a complimentary proof (test print) before moving forward with the final result. This is important especially at larger print sizes to reduce waste. Our goal is to exceed expectations and ensure that you receive a print you are pleased with.

Paper Options

Baryta Papers are rag papers coated with barium sulphate, resulting in a surface that resembles traditional silver gelatin darkroom papers. Baryta paper offers high contrast ratios while retaining brilliant color accuracy.

Rag Papers have a matte finish resembling watercolor papers. This allows for a softer contrast and smoother shadows. Available in Smooth White, Natural and several Textured finishes.

Photo Papers offer high color saturation and better scuff-resistance when compared to other papers. Available in Luster, Gloss, and Semi-Gloss finishes.

Canvas prints are available in Cotton and Poli-Cotton surfaces. Canvas adds a unique texture to your image available in both Matte and Glossy finishes. Prices above include stretching over a custom 1.5” wooden frame. Unstretched canvas orders are possible upon request. Please note that canvas printing and stretching takes one week.
