Fine Art Printing

Fine Art Printing at Printlab

We take pride in producing museum-quality prints that bring your vision to life. Our Fine Art Printing service includes:

  • Archival pigment printing on premium fine art papers using fade-resistant inks.

  • Professional file preparation to ensure every print meets the highest quality standards.

  • A complimentary proof (test print) so you can review and fine-tune before we produce the final piece.

Archival Pigment Printing

Also known as giclée (pronounced zhee-CLAY), archival pigment printing combines fine art papers with long-lasting archival inks to create prints with exceptional detail, accurate color, and unmatched longevity. This is the standard used by museums and galleries worldwide.
If you’d like more information about the specific printers, inks, and papers we use, just give us a call — we love talking about our craft.

Professional File Preparation

Preparing a file for print isn’t the same as preparing one for a screen. Factors like personal editing style, viewing environment, and monitor calibration all influence the final result. Our expert team handles these details for you, ensuring your final print looks exactly as intended.

If you’re confident in your file-prep skills, you can skip this step — along with the included proof — and send us print-ready files for a lower cost. Learn more on our Print-Ready page.

Complimentary Proofs

A proof is your chance to see exactly how your work will print before committing to the final run. It’s especially important for large prints, where small adjustments can make a big difference. We include a proof at no extra cost because our goal is simple: deliver a print you love.

Paper Options

Baryta Papers are made from rag fibers and coated with barium sulfate, which creates a surface that is similar to traditional silver gelatin darkroom papers. These papers offer high contrast ratios and accurate color reproduction.

Rag Papers have a matte finish that is similar to watercolor paper, resulting in a softer contrast and smoother shadows. They are available in smooth white, natural, and textured finishes.

Photo Papers are known for their high color saturation and scuff-resistance. They are available in luster, gloss, and semi-gloss finishes.

Canvas are made using either cotton or poly-cotton surfaces and are available in matte or glossy finishes. Prices listed above include stretching over a custom 1.75” wooden frame. Unstretched canvas orders are also available upon request. Please note that canvas printing and stretching takes one week to complete.

Please contact us for an additional size information.

If you are proficient in file preparation, you can send it straight to our printers, it will bypass the setup process which in turn saves you about 25%. For more info, go to our Print-Ready page.
